You wait until the last minute to find a great gift for your software tester. But this year, we’re giving you some ideas so that those feelings of dread don’t overwhelm you! Here are five gifts our team came up with that they wish their employer would give them.

Great gift ideas for a software tester:
A personalized mug with their company logo on it. This is one of my favorite things to get from other developers – I love when they put work into making me feel appreciated!
A book about something that interests them or that you think will help them do their job better (e.g., design patterns). Most testers are self-learners and don’t have time to go back to school full time, so this can be really helpful in improving skills and staying current with emerging trends in testing and quality assurance! If you’re not sure what to get, I love this list of great books on software testing.
A five-dollar Starbucks gift card so they can stop by and grab a coffee while working from home (this is my favorite). Since most testers have day jobs or don’t work at the office full time, it’s always nice when we can take some time for ourselves and indulge in something that makes us feel better! It doesn’t matter how much you spend just having an excuse to go out will be enough.
Floss picks with their company logo on them.
This might sound weird but flossing is so important because nobody likes getting plaque caught between teeth and dealing with bad breath all day long! And these floss picks are perfect for our desk since they have a built-in threader as well.
A homemade card or note.
I know this sounds cheesy, but it’s true! Sometimes these little gestures of appreciation can make all the difference in their day and help them feel better about being so far from home during the holidays (especially if you’re on different continents).
If you want to get really creative, try including some Christmas cookies with your message written out on parchment paper that way people will be able to read it without having any crumbs fall off onto your card before giving it back!
