My new favorite DIY project is diamond painting. It is the perfect way to improve the appearance of old walls and ceilings and even make your own custom jewelry. I make diamond painting with glass, which I found at a local home center. I have used this technique to improve a bathroom and kitchen, plus a dining room, hallway, and bedroom. I like to take the opportunity to create some beautiful art by using natural finishes.
Diamond painting is a relatively easy process. You can use glass, metal, or even wood for the jewelry. It is important to try to make the wall the same color as the ceiling because some stains will wash out. The size of the diamond is also important and I tend to work with big diamonds. Ive found both purple and blue to be effective in creating diamonds, but a purple would be ideal because you can paint it over any other color. You can use any color that you want, and because the diamond is transparent it has a very nice, brilliant effect.
