Fabric markers are super easy to use. You just need to follow some basic steps that take you right out of your typical sewing or scrapbooking. First, you’ll want to lay your fabric flat on a table. You’ll also want your marker in front of you and your fingers or a fabric roller behind your marker. Next, you’ll want to draw a straight line down the middle of your fabric. You can put your fabric marker in front of you and simply draw a straight line.
It may sound counterintuitive, but this will guide your fabric lines. If you draw a straight line down the center, it will create a perfect straight line, but if you start at the left side and draw a straight line down the middle, it will create a weird, curved line.
The best way to figure out if you should use a fabric marker or not is to draw a line down the center of your fabric and measure and mark it. Then, you can compare your measurements and see if it looks better. Or maybe not. We found that it is easier to create a pretty straight line with a fabric marker than it is with a marker of paper. It is also easier to get a straight line in fabric than paper.
So, for our purposes a fabric marker is best. It’s also easier than paper, plus, it’s just fabric.
There’s a few other things you can do with fabric markers besides just creating straight lines. You can paint it on fabric or you can use a special needle-tip marker for a more permanent job. It also works well as a border on your fabric. You can also use it as a stamp on fabric.
