At a recent home remodel, our contractor suggested we put a dining room table in the center of a room. He wanted to set it right in the middle of the room and not block it. I was really impressed with that idea. I was also impressed with the contractor, because he was willing to try something that wasn’t going to be too expensive to do and would make a great addition to the space. I went along with his idea and it was a huge hit.
The space in the room that we got rid of our dining room table is now the perfect place to put a coffee table. It’s not a big room so it’s not going to be blocking the room, and it wasnt going to be really expensive to put into the space. We spent just under $1,000 on the table, and it’s perfect.
The next thing that I noticed is that the dining table has a mirror on either end. I couldnt believe what I was seeing. Its not that they didnt look good but it was just so unnatural, that I thought, “well if that is all they are, they must be pretty good looking.” I still think they looked damn good though.
The table is perfect. It not only looks great and is built to last, it is also perfectly sized to fit in the space. We only spent about 1,000 dollars on it, and the only thing that could possibly be worth spending that much on is a mirror. I didn’t see a mirror on a dining table, and even if they were there it wouldnt have been worth it.
Okay, so I want that table set up. My only question is, “What if the mirror is broken?” That would be an expensive repair and there’s no guarantee that the mirror would be replaced.
The answer is simple. If you have a mirror, you would have to replace it with something better. This means the mirror, for the most part, is going to be the one with the most potential for damage. Or, if the mirror is broken, what have we got? It’s much better to replace the mirror with something better than the one you were supposed to replace.
I have to agree. It should be a law that mirrors have to be replaced with something better. I mean, the mirror is still there, but so are all the mirrors.
This is what happens when you try to be rational about the whole mirror replacement thing. You’re like, “You know, it’s not like anyone would actually know about that, right?” You’re right, but we can’t be irrational about it because then the mirror would just remain broken forever.
The problem is that mirror replacements are such a big and expensive part of most people’s lives. There are a lot of people who would be happy to get a new mirror in their house, but the cost of doing so would be so high that it wouldn’t be worth the hassle.
So you think that mirrors are a waste of money and time that you just cannot afford? Here’s the thing, if you are a real estate investor and this is a major part of your investment, you will probably be paying a lot of money for this. I know I am.
