I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been called a “gigabyte” by my co-workers, coworkers, friends, and family. I’ve always been a geeky person. My father was a scientist, my uncle was a mathematician, and my brother was a mathematician.
My brother, for example, was a self-educated mathematician and a computer programmer. He was able to do so because he had access to a lot of technology. It was through them that he learned about computers that he could do the things he had to do, so he wasn’t a computer wannabe. He learned how to program computers in school. To him, it was a lot more important that he could program a computer than that he was a really good engineer.
It is true that many programmers are mathematicians. But there are also many coders who are not. It is not true that all programmers are mathematicians. Many are not. And that’s a big reason why there is a shortage of good programmers.
The number of computer programmers has been stagnant for a long time, so its a good time to say that a lot of programmers are bad engineers. The number of good engineers has been increasing over the years. So you can’t blame a lot of programmers for being bad. You can blame a lot of coders for being bad.
There are two reasons why coders are bad engineers. They can’t do the same things everyone else does. And, if there are two coders who are better than everyone else, the other is a bad engineer. These two reasons are not mutually exclusive. So, if one is a good engineer, the other is a bad engineer.
In this case, the good engineers are the ones that are good coders. In fact, that’s probably the best way to describe it. However, not all coders are good engineers. Sometimes, the coders who are good engineers are bad coders. And a bad engineer is a bad programmer. So, the best way to find out if you are a bad engineer is to write code that others find unreadable.
