I was a child. I didn’t know you could go beyond the first level of self-awareness. I was an only child. I didn’t have a mother. I didn’t have a father. I didn’t have siblings. I had no one to talk to. I had no friends. I had no one to speak to. I had no ideas of my own.

In one way, it’s almost like any one of these children has experienced something traumatic. A huge part of their lives is spent avoiding self-awareness. But in another way it’s like we’re all born with an innate ability to self-awareness. It’s in our DNA; it’s in our nature. As a result, it just takes some practice so we can break out of the programming.

Editor K: I am the type of person who will organize my entire home (including closets) based on what I need for vacation. Making sure that all vital supplies are in one place, even if it means putting them into a carry-on and checking out early from work so as not to miss any flights!
