I had always wanted to plaster business cards that have pictures of people I like to see because I thought it would be cool. I am actually a plastering business owner myself, and I get asked a lot more about plastering than I ever thought I would. I had one of my first plastering business cards made in my own company, and I have been asked to go back and make more.
You can plaster a business card in a variety of ways, and it is one of the easiest. I’ve got it on my blog under the same title and description as my other products, and the instructions are pretty easy to follow. I had a friend make a business card for me at a photography convention a few years ago. It was easy to make, and it was a pain in the ass to get it out of the box.
Its a simple card, but if you want a business card that has more personality, I would recommend going with a fabric-backed one. I got mine printed at a local fabric store, but you can find a number of different ones for around $5 at your local dollar store. They’re the easiest to cut, and I would suggest using a cutting mat.
They may seem like a pain, but once you get the hang of it you can quickly make the card look pretty.
That being said, there are a few things to do to make it look nice. For starters, use a white or ivory card stock. I personally like the black stock from my local dollar store, but there are a lot of different ones out there.
Just remember to apply some glue to the back of the card stock. I like to apply a thin layer of black gel coat and then another layer of glue.
The other thing is to make sure that the back of the card stays clear of the adhesive. I like to use a little bit of clear adhesive under my glue so that the glue can’t get under the adhesive and ruin the glue. That way I can use my cutting mat to trim excess glue if I need to.
Some people use glue on the back of their business cards. I don’t. I don’t think it’s important, but I usually just leave it plain. For my business cards I prefer black ink on white card stock, and I don’t use a glue on the back.
You can also do it by removing the adhesive from the back and using a laser to trim the glue down to the card’s edge. I personally prefer my cards plain, without a glue on the back.
I’m not one to complain about using glue, I just prefer it plain and I’m not going to use it on a blank card as it can get messy.
