So, as you build out your marketing strategies, you may find yourself in a situation where you have to be more or less creative depending on the rules involved. For a while, the marketing world seemed more interested in the “how” than in the “why.” However, for many reasons, marketers are now trying to understand why particular methods work. That’s why I like to talk about the why. When I’m talking about marketing, I’m talking about marketing ideas, methods, and tactics, as well as the product that I’m talking about. I don’t think we really understand the why of why marketing is important in the first place.

Marketing isnt about the product or the service. Marketing is about the process of making it possible for people to buy the product or service. Marketing isnt about the product. Marketing is a process.
Marketing is about the why. The why is about the process. The process is about the product. The product is about the process. But marketing isnt about the product, it is about the why. And the why might be a product of a process.
For instance, let’s say you want to sell a product. In that case your idea of “sale” is how many people you can convince to purchase your product. But the process is how (and if) you can get people to buy your product. Marketing is about the why. It is about the process.

I’m not sure if the “process” is what marketing is all about. But if it is, marketing is still pretty simple. All you have to do is create something. A “process” has to do with creating something, and that something is something you have to sell. But it is not about creating a product, it is about selling a process. If you can sell a process, then you can sell anything. And that includes products that are not designed to be sold.
