This is a blog post about why someone would say something so controversial and brave.

The article discusses 10 reasons for this action, including the need to express oneself without fear of repercussion or judgement, as well as to share one’s perspective with others in order to generate change.

Be honest

To be honest with oneself and one’s community it can feel freeing to share something difficult or painful in order to heal from trauma, for example by creating a new narrative that doesn’t shame the person who experienced it but instead honors what they survived. ‘I wasn’t raped because I had too much alcohol’. It was rape because my body was violated against my will. And because of how vulnerable I already felt about having consumed so many drinks on an empty stomach which is why he targeted me. sometimes there are unspoken truths that need to be shared in order for people around us not to make assumptions about our motives or actions

Example sentence for reason: “She was so brave to share her story.”

The world is too harsh on people who don’t fit the typical mold when it comes to what’s considered beautiful or successful. I want this blog post and series of articles that will follow, to inspire those going through tough times with their weight, body image issues, self-esteem problems etc., by showing them how others have overcome these obstacles in order to be happy again and live a more fulfilling life.

As someone who has been harassed online because of my weight and appearance all throughout elementary school up until now in college  this is a topic very close to me. There are many excuses we could make as why society continues bullying people who are different, but I believe that we need to be able to recognize the messages society sends us and make a choice about what messages we want to accept.

Reason:

“She was so brave for sharing her story.” The world is too harsh on people who don’t fit the typical mold when it comes to what’s considered beautiful or successful.
