I have had a number of finance jobs in the past, and I’ve found that the best way to get the job is to network and network and network. This one was particularly hard because I’ve been working in finance for over 10 years and have only recently started to gain some confidence and ability to be self-sufficient.
This is not surprising that Ive had more trouble landing finance jobs than Ive had any other type of job. It can be hard to gain the confidence to ask for a raise because youve had so many, but that doesn’t mean you can’t ask for one. People who are self-employed are less likely to be afraid of asking for a raise and more likely to be able to get it.
When I was working in finance, I was always the one who told people about my situation and my struggles. I always let people know what I was up against and that I could do it. Ive been self-employed since I was 25. I have a lot of experience at this, but in my early years in finance Ive learned a lot of tricks for getting finance jobs.
The trick with getting finance jobs is that you can usually get the job by being nice, asking for the right position, and presenting a picture of yourself that is believable (in the sense that it is possible to work in finance even if you are a weirdo).
I’m not sure if finance jobs are still looking for weirdos, but if they are, I’d say they are looking for people who want to make the work a bit more interesting. I think the finance job will be a lot like the art gallery, in that the job requires a lot of creativity and the work is often quite difficult.
Also, I’m not sure if finance is the right job, but I would rather go into finance than any other job I could think of.
Finance is a bit like a creative outlet. You need a large enough amount of money to make a meaningful living.
