I’ve been playing with my new Mayberry Street Miniatures for a few weeks now. I love them! They are a great way to get a different kind of perspective on your home. In this tutorial I will show you how to use them to paint just about any surface. You can use them as a wall or a table, they are fun to look at together. Ive been playing with them in my garage and on my deck. The idea of using them on a table and on the porch is a great feature and a wonderful way to use them in your home.
Miniatures are fun to play with as well. They are easy to use and very forgiving. I have a collection of 18 different kits that have been purchased and sent over into my collection over the past year. Some of the kits are simple to build, others are more involved and they take a while to get started. I love the idea of using them with the same style of furniture as the walls that I paint with them. I have also used them in the garage and on my deck.
And because miniaturization is so easy, you can also use them in your home decor. I have used them in the kitchen, my office, and even a few rooms we don’t have an interior design team to paint. I think it’s important to realize that even though I’m an avid painter and even though I’m a fan of miniaturizing for decorating, I’m not a fan of the kits themselves. They’re not that different from any other kits out there, except perhaps in shape. They’re not cheap, and they don’t have to be.
I can see why they’d be expensive and I have a personal problem with them, but I don’t see the fun in them. Theyre just another box to put together and you’ll probably use them once or twice, and then they’ll sit abandoned in a drawer or cupboard for the rest of your life.
To be fair, the kits are very affordable. Ive gotten mine from a local hobby shop for $5.00, and thats pretty cheap by the way. Theyre not cheap to buy, but theyre not as expensive to make as the kits. You get the same amount of play time and build time, though you can easily make more with the kits (like a mini-piggy with a mini-gun).
And theyre not made of plastic. To be safe, you should try and avoid kits made of anything that will melt away or damage your toy.
The kits are made by a company called CTMG. They produce the kits for several companies, most of which have their own kits. Like a lot of companies, they don’t take credit for their work, and they often use a lot of subcontractors in their manufacturing process. So it’s difficult to say with certainty if they have any involvement in the actual product.
With a little bit of digging, i found out that they actually have a website where they list kits for sale, including those for miniatures. They have a blog with pictures as well as forum and a wiki.
