Plastic gears is a hobby lobby that seems to be popular with those of us who are addicted to plastic gears. Plastic gears are made by wrapping plastic gears with plastic and then using a glue stick to hold it together. A lot of hobby lobbies will have plastic gears available for sale, which can be used, but they are also available in a variety of colors.
Hobby lobbies are fun, and they can also be a great tool for those who are looking for a fun and easy way to make the hobby of plastic gears more accessible. Plastic gears are easy to make in home workshops, and can even be made from scratch, but they require a bit of patience.
The only thing you need to have a hobby lobby in your home is a glue stick and a hammer. I have seen hobby lobby lobbies as small as a foot long and as wide as a car, and that’s not too bad unless you’re a kid. Hobby lobbies can even be created using standard craft foam, but the real trick is in making the holes and making sure that you get all of the gears in the same place.
The best way to get gears in the same place is to make sure that there are no gaps between each other. If there are gaps, then you’ll have to fill them in with a glue stick or a bit of glue (or both). It’s a bit of a pain, but it can be done.

The thing about trying to get three-to-one ratios in a hobby lobby is that you can only make it as big as the person who made it for you. That means that you have to either get a very good builder, or hire someone to do it for you. In this case it seems the latter is the case because I was able to get the three-to-one ratio in less than an hour, and the glue job took me about five hours.
There are many hobby lobby builders out there, but the most popular is the plastic gears maker. The idea seems to be that you use a bit of glue to stick the gears onto a piece of wood, but the only advantage is that you don’t have to sand and re-glue the board. You can also make plastic gears in your wood shop. I’ve done this with a couple of friends, and found it to be pretty easy. Just take a large piece of 3/4″ plywood, and cut some big pieces of thick 3/4″ plywood. The idea is to glue down two pieces of plywood to one piece of plywood, and then use some kind of gluing compound to attach the two pieces together.
The plan sounds good, except I think it would be easiest to just glue the two plywood pieces together myself. I can’t imagine that having a nice, smooth surface would be a problem. I have some leftover woodworking tools so I’d probably be able to build a decent-looking plastic gear. It’s definitely something to try out.
