I had a question recently on the internet about something to do with resin. I have always loved resin and crafting using it, but I have heard just about every type of resin I could ever want. The question was, which resin was the “best” for making resin crafts? Of course, anyone can comment on the best resin for any crafting project, but here are some of the most popular resin crafts, and the way that they are made.
I will start off with the most popular, and that is resin crafts made out of acrylics. I have no idea how resin crafts are made, but the idea of painting acrylics is so appealing to me that I feel a little sad when I find out that it isn’t something I could ever pursue.
Like most crafts, my resin crafts come out looking kind of like a picture. This is a good thing, because I can’t really mess up that look. As you can see from these photos, there are a few things that you need to be aware of when it comes to making resin crafts.
You need to take care not to paint too much resin, because that will transfer over onto your other acrylics. For example, if you want to make a resin book, you need to paint black acrylics on your main book page and then white acrylics on the title page. You need to make sure that the resin and acrylics don’t touch each other.
You also need to make sure you take care of the mold lines. If you are doing a resin book, the resin may come out of the mold. If you are doing a book, you need to take care of the mold lines so the book will be smooth and not be bumpy. Also, be aware that if you are going to use any resin, be sure that it’s at room temperature before you paint it.
The best resin for crafts is usually acrylics. It works because the acrylics will not touch each other. And since they don’t touch each other, they will not crack and fall apart.
You can also use a clear polyurethane resin or a transparent acrylic resin. Be careful though, as these resins are very flammable.

Yes, you read that right. That’s the one that gets knocked down, the one that is too hard to use. Yes, it’s the one that breaks if you take it too much. And yes, it is also the one that will not work with acrylics. But I’m sure we all know what I’m talking about.
This is actually not a resin thing. Its a general thing about acrylics that do not adhere well to each other. Its a chemical thing, and a huge pain to work with. Im sure you could go out into the craft store or your local art supply store and buy a clear acrylic and be good to go. But theres a reason that most acrylics are not acrylic at all. It is because they have tiny pores that do not adhere to each other.
