This summer I purchased a few pieces of wood for the floor of our room and put them in a corner. I love the way they just blend into the carpet. I don’t think I’ll ever use the wood as a focal point in my home; I just like the way it blends into the carpet.

I think we should take a look at your room and see what you might be able to do with it. I know you have a fireplace, but we’re not even sure what you’ve done with it before. As you’ve noted, wood is your best bet, but you’ve got some other things in there that I’m guessing could use a lot of attention.
We can’t go into too much detail about some of the rooms in our house because we can’t actually show anything to you. But as a general rule, we don’t recommend using more wood than you should because it may have a negative impact on the overall look of the room. And we’re not saying you should use all wood. Just do your best with what you have.
We say its not okay to use too much wood because it can look like cheap or fake wood or wood that is simply not good enough. If we were using all wood, we would be doing the same thing we previously mentioned and using all the wood. To be honest, we dont think you should overuse the wood either, but if you feel like it is required, you can always cut a small chunk of wood from the drywall and stick it in your room.
The idea is not to use every piece of wood, but to use what you have. If you don’t have a big enough piece of trim to cover your desk, you can use it as a stand for the rest of your desk like you are in the real world. You can find many other useful things to keep in your room that can make it feel more “functional” or “modern”.
I dont see the need for a piece of wood in your bed.
If your room is a little bare, you can always paint it.
You can paint your walls. You can use any color you like. You can paint the furniture you have, as well.
