Technology analysts are in the business of transforming data into useful information that drives innovation and business performance. We analyze data for businesses to make them better and use the tools of technology to make these transformations.
Today’s focus is on analytics, but I think technology analyst is the more general term. Technologists analyze the ways in which technologies work to make them more efficient, effective, and effective.
I think technology analysts are mostly concerned with business processes and technology that drives them. They are concerned with the “how” rather than “what” of technology. There is no inherent “right” way to use a technology that is just a matter of personal preference.
Technology analysts focus on the “how” because they are used to thinking about the “what.” That is, they are used to being part of the process of making sure the “what” is working well. In that sense, they make the “what” work well. But they are concerned with the “how” because they are used to working with process.

With their degree in computer science, a technology analyst has the job of thinking about the technology inside a computer. They also have the job of thinking about how the computer system works. It’s a lot like the way we think about ourselves.
Technology analysts are really just data scientists. But you wouldn’t expect them to just be data scientists because they don’t know what a data scientist does. In fact, they probably don’t know what a data scientist does and they may not even know what a software engineer does either. But that’s okay, because the data analysis they do is the same as the software analysis they do.
I think most of the time analysts dont even know what software engineer does. But as a data scientist, they do. They use technology to analyze data and they do that using software. They are the ones who decide what is going on with the system, but they arent the ones who write software code because they arent data scientists.
