We need to keep track of our clients and how we are integrating them into our business. When you are dealing with potential customers or clients, they are your best allies. Keep track of who you need to talk to, who you need to meet, and who you need to communicate with. Make it a habit to include people in your business.
If you know someone who knows someone, that is a great way to connect with them. You could say, “I need to talk to you about this project. I will be there in three hours.” Of course, it’s always a good idea to be upfront about what you are promising, and making plans with people who you want to work with can be a great way to get started.
Partners aren’t the only way to communicate a business. One of my favorite ways to connect with people is the way my family communicates with each other. The way my mom and dad are in touch and always on the same page is great. I don’t think I have any siblings, but I’m sure I know some. I want to connect with them and see what they are doing and what their lives are like. I don’t have an agenda.
Like my family, you want to connect with people who you want to work with. The thing is, that isnt always the case. I can relate because I was always really good at talking to people, but I wasnt always good at getting along with them. The thing is, these days it is so easy to just jump into a new project and find that you dont have the right people. Or maybe they are your best people.
It’s not just that you don’t have the right people. It’s that you’re not able to get them to communicate and collaborate with you. I’ve worked with people who I thought had the best interests of their businesses at heart, but then I discovered they weren’t interested in collaborating with me. I’m talking about things like not doing what you agreed to do. I’m talking about things like not wanting to have meetings with people you feel like you know.
If you want to work with a company that truly wants to work with you, there are a lot of things you need to be willing to do. You need to be willing to go to the lengths of hiring people who don’t tell you how to do things, or who are just not interested in collaborating with you. You also need to be willing to meet with and talk to lots of different people than you might normally do.
I’m not saying just be nice to everyone. Just be a little weird. A little weird is the best you can do.
The companies that I work with are all in the middle of something. They want to merge with each other. They don’t know what its going to be like when the final touches are done. They need to be able to work with someone who can help them with all of these things.
You have to be creative. You cant give them what they need because its not possible. They need a partner. Its not like you can walk in and say, “Hey, I am going to help you grow your business.” You cant do that. The best thing you can do is to get a few friends together who will help you with business ideas, then build them a team and put them in a room and you have something.
You can give your business a fresh spin, but you cannot give it a team that can help it grow. You can give them a great idea and give them some guidance. One of the best things that can help a business grow is the ability to work with a partner to achieve a goal. Working with a partner helps you to communicate, share ideas, and collaborate on the best way to accomplish a goal. It also allows you to work more productively and efficiently.
