This is the story of Jack and his mother, who live in a small house. One day, Jack’s mom said that they needed to sell their cow for food on account of not being able to afford to buy feed for her any longer. So she went down the road looking for someone who would give them money or take care of their cow. She found an old woman in a cottage at the end of the lane and asked if she wanted their cow as well as some food and gold coins. The old woman agreed but told them that they should ask her three wishes when they come back with more items from home before selling it again!
