It’s been a long time since I’ve written anything on this blog.
The last post was about my life as a freelancer and the struggles that come with being your own boss. It’s been almost two years since then, and I’m still struggling to make it in this business. But there are some things that have helped me get back on track. In this post, we’re going to talk about 11 reasons why you might be failing too and how you can avoid them!
You’re not taking care of your body.
With the hours that freelancers put in, it’s easy to neglect your health and well-being, both mentally and physically. Make sure you get enough sleep, drink water all day long (I know this sounds weird but I guarantee it will help!), eat a balanced diet with at least three main meals and two snacks each day don’t just live off sugar! The last thing you want is for your mental state to be negatively impacted by feeling hungry or dehydrated during an important task.

One thing that’s been really helpful to me is learning how to be more productive, especially when it comes down to the hours before bedtime. It sounds strange but if you’re not getting eight hours of sleep, take naps during the day! Don’t waste time feeling tired for no reason it’ll just stress you out when there are other tasks left unfinished at night. The same goes for food: don’t eat dinner late at night or too close to bed because your body won’t have enough time to digest properly and will make your stomach feel worse in the morning as a result.
And drink water! If anything else has ever 11.
I am not good with money I do not make smart financial decisions and have poor spending habits. My parents always paid for everything, so now that I’m on my own, it’s easy to blow my salary without actually feeling the impact of what I’m doing until after the fact when all my savings is gone and there are no more credit cards left in the drawer. It took a lot of therapy sessions (and an embarrassing phone call) to finally get myself into counseling where they taught me about how much things cost hourly, weekly or monthly as opposed to annually which really helped me understand why this was such a big issue for me.
